Veronica Slaght earned her B.A. in English Literature at Wesleyan University in Connecticut and worked as a journalist before becoming a psychotherapist. She then earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University in Pennsylvania. As a doctoral student, she conducted research into the biases of clinical psychologists toward patients with substance use disorders and borderline personality disorder. Dr. Slaght completed her APA-accredited internship at both the KeyStone Center for Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders and at Swarthmore College Counseling and Psychological Services. After graduating, she completed a two-year fellowship at The George Washington University Professional Psychology Program and Center Clinic — seeing patients in a community mental health setting, teaching graduate-level classes, supervising doctoral-level students, and managing the training clinic. Dr. Slaght has completed the Supervision Training Program and the two-year National Institute of Group Psychotherapy at the Washington School of Psychiatry. She is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy Society.
